Configuring Demandbase in Page Layouts and the Custom Tab in Salesforce Lightning Edition

This set of instructions is for all users who are installing the Demandbase package. You can enable Demandbase Sales Intelligence CRM View in Salesforce lightning experience using any one of the following procedures:

Configuring Demandbase CRM View in Page Layout

The following instructions describe how to add Demandbase Sales Intelligence CRM View in page layout. To learn how to install Demandbase Sales Intelligence package, click here.

Step Description Details
1 Login to Salesforce

Log in to Salesforce CRM with a user who has edit page privilege.

2 Select Object Select the Account, Contact, Lead, or Opportunity object where you want to configure IV widget. For example, select Demandbase account to configure an Account object.
3 Select Contact and Edit Page

Select the Demandbase account and go to Setup. Here, select Edit Page, as illustrated below.

4 Configure Visualforce components In the resultant screen after clicking the Edit Page above, scroll down on the left pane to click Visualforce as illustrated:

Drag and drop the Visualforce component on the page in any one of the following three configurations:

  1. Full Width

5 Assign Labels

In the above screen, fill up the red highlighted fields to complete the configuration process, as depicted below:

  1. Specify a label in the Label field
  2. Select InsideView Account Connector in the VisualforcePage Name field
  3. Set the height to 600-800 in Height field.

Note: When configuring the Demandbase Visualforce component in one-third width, set the height to 600 in the Height field.

6 Complete the process Click Save to complete the process of configuring.

Once configuration process is completed, a screen similar to the following one appears.

Repeat same steps to configure a contact, lead, and opportunity object.

Configuring Demandbase CRM View within Details tab in Page Layout

The following instructions describe how to add Demandbase Sales Intelligence CRM View within Details tab in page layout. To learn how to install Demandbase Sales Intelligence, click here.

Step Description Details
1 Click Setup Home

After login to Salesforce, click Setup, as shown in the below screen:

2 Go to Object Manager

Click Object Manager.

3 Go to the Page Layout

Click Accounts on the following screen.

And click Page Layouts, as illustrated in the below:

4 Edit Account Page Layout In the Page Layouts screen, click the Account Layout link.

5 Add Account Details Under Account Layout, click Section and drag and drop it under Account Detail.

6 Enter Section Properties On the Section Properties dialog box, do the following:

- In the Section Name box, type Demandbase.
- Under Layout select 1-Column.

Click OK.

7 Add Connected app  Select Visualforce Pages under Account Layout, click InsideView Account Connector, drag and drop it in the Demandbase section you created.

8 Go to Properties On the InsideView Account Connector, click Properties.

9 Change the Visualforce Page Properties On the Visualforce Page Properties, change Height (in pixels) to 400 and click OK.

10 Save the changes and repeat steps Click Save to save the updated page layout.

Repeat steps 2 - 8 to add Demandbase to Leads, Opportunities, and Contacts objects.

Configuring the Demandbase Custom Tab in the Navigation Bar

The following instructions describe how to add the Demandbase Custom Tab in the Salesforce navigation bar:

1 Customize the navigation bar Select the Pencil icon in the navigation bar to customize the navigation items.

In the Edit Sales App Navigation Items page, click Add More Items as illustrated:

2 Choose Demandbase Click All under Available Items and select InsideView by clicking the + icon.

Click Add 1 Nav Item.

3 Rearrange the custom tab In the Edit Sales App Navigation Items page, select and drag InsideView to your preferred location in the navigation bar.

Click Save. Once the process is completed, the InsideView custom tab is added to the Salesforce navigation bar.

Click on the InsideView custom tab to access Demandbase directly within Salesforce.

Managing the Custom Tabs for Salesforce User Profiles

Step Description Details
1 Add the Custom tab for all users

As a Salesforce Admin, you can enable the InsideView Custom Tab for all users at the Salesforce organization level.

Note: Users can modify or remove the custom tab themselves.

Follow these steps to enable the custom tab for all users:

  • Log in to Salesforce CRM with Admin user credentials.
  • Go to Setup and navigate to the Apps > App Manager.

  • Select the App for which you would like to add the custom tab and click Edit.

  • On the App Settings page, go to Navigation Items. Select InsideView and Data Integrity (if purchased) from the Available Tabs and click > to add it to the Navigation Panel. Use the Up and Down arrow keys to change the order if required.

  • Click Save.
  • On the App Settings panel, click on User Profiles.
  • Select the user profiles for which these tabs need to be enabled from the Available Profiles section and click > to add it to the to Selected Profiles section.

  • Click Save.

The custom tabs are added to the Navigation Panel of Salesforce.

2 Enable the Custom tab from the Profiles If the Custom Tab is marked as hidden for a Salesforce Profile, follow these steps to enable it:
  • Log in to Salesforce CRM with admin user credentials.
  • Go to the Profiles page.

  • Find the user profiles for which these tabs need to be enabled and click Edit.

  • Scroll down to verify the Custom Tab settings for InsideView.

  • If the Custom Tab Settings is hidden, click Edit and change the InsideView setting to Default On as illustrated.

  • Click Save.
3 Hide the custom tab for specific profiles If you want to hide the Demandbase tab for certain user profiles with no access to Demandbase, follow these steps to do so:
  • Log in to Salesforce CRM with your admin user credentials.
  • Go to the Profiles page.

  • Find the user profiles for which these tabs need to be enabled and click Edit.
  • Scroll down to verify the profile for which you want to hide the InsideView or InsideView Data Integrity custom tab and click Edit.
  • In the Profile Edit page, scroll down to the Custom Tab Settings section and choose Tab Hidden or Default Off for InsideView.

  • Click Save.
  • All users with this selected profile now cannot search and add the InsideView custom tab to the Salesforce Navigation Panel.
