Quick Start Reference - Setting Up Data Integrity in Microsoft Dynamics CRM

This article outlines the various steps needed to set-up Data Integrity Integration in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Step Description Details
1 Install the latest InsideView Data Integrity package To learn how to install the InsideView Data Integrity package, please read the articles Installing InsideView Data Integrity in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online Editions and Installing InsideView Insights via AppSource Marketplace in our Knowledge Base.
2 Enable the InsideView Data Integrity components  InsideView Data Integrity and the Data Integrity update button is only visible to System Administrators and System Customizers upon installation and has to be enabled for needed roles.

To enable the InsideView Data Integrity components in Microsoft Dynamics CRM; such as the Products and Settings Tile, and the Data Integrity button, read the articles Configure InsideView Insights 5.0 Components in the UCI App Sitemap and  Enabling and Using the InsideView Data Integrity Update Button in Microsoft Dynamics CRM in our Knowledge Base.

You must enable the Data Integrity Update button Customize Data Integrity Account Settings for Microsoft Dynamics CRM and grant access to the Data Integrity app to desired user roles/profiles. 

3 Add InsideView fields and grant required permissions  It is recommended to add the following fields to the page layouts for each supported objects in Microsoft Dynamics CRM:
  • InsideView Data Integrity Status
  • InsideView Match Status
  • InsideView Date Last Updated

These fields are important in helping you to identify the Data Integrity status of the record.

Note: Change the InsideView Data Integrity Status field to Not Managed and the InsideView Match Status field to Unmatched for all existing records before executing any Data Integrity processes in the instance.

IMPORTANT

Ensure that your account is authorized to use InsideView Data Integrity and all required admin permissions are assigned to your InsideView account.

Note: If the Microsoft Dynamics 365 (O365) admin does not have these permissions, you will need a Global Admin permissions to create an application user, authenticate InsideView application, or complete the InsideView Data Integrity setup.
4 Access the InsideView Data Integrity app After you have installed and configured InsideView Data Integrity, in the Standard view, go to Dynamics 365 Sales and click the InsideView tile and select the Data Integrity app link.

In the UCI view, select the SalesHub with InsideView Insights app and click Sales link, then select the InsideView item as illustrated:

5 Configure the custom field mappings

Note

Repeat steps 1 to 6 for a new environment in the same Account. Please note that processes for all existing connected Data Integrity organizations are accessible through any Data Integrity interface. You can access, create, or edit processes in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Sandbox, Production, and UAT in the same user interface when logged into Sandbox.
